Postpartum Ecologies

Photography

This project explores motherhood as an ecological condition, reflecting humanity's desire to control natural processes, the depletion of resources, and the lack of care infrastructure. The project raises questions about how personal, interpersonal, and environmental ecology intertwine in the experience of motherhood, and how emotional sustainability relates to ecological sustainability.

The project consists of artworks that incorporate everyday objects of motherhood and reflect experiences collected from mothers' communities. Another important part of the project are collective creative sessions with mothers, during which conversations and a shared creative process take place. The gathered experiences become part of new works.
